I purchased my first computer at the age of 12, a Tandy 1000 HX from Radio Shack. Within the first month I felt that I had well surpassed the capabilities of the computer. Searching around locally and through Computer Shopper I was able to amass enough parts to build a 386 SX/16 with a 40mb hard drive. I ran a BBS from my bedroom in my parents’ house, meeting all kinds of geeks just like myself. From that point forward I started programming and building computers. I started a profitable computer building business at 16 while at the same time becoming the first sophomore in my high school to work as a coop. I worked for a fortune 500 company as a tech lead. From there I worked for other large corporations such as Mazda, DTE Energy, and Autodesk, all in the System Analyst / Software Engineer capacity. I am fluent in many different development languages and have a great deal of knowledge regarding computer hardware.
I have owned and operated many businesses and sites revolving around technology. I have been invited by Microsoft to their Redmond campus for insight and direction on the Windows Mobile platform. Some of my sites have included TinyTechNews.com, SmartGeek.com, TechGeekly.com, littlewhitedog.com, and IsThereTruthToTheRumor.com (digg before there was digg).
I am driven to technology and have a passion for the undiscovered. I am a software engineer at heart but my knowledge of hardware and the evolution of it throughout my 17 years in IT make me a very well rounded Information Technology professional.
Enjoy the BIG dumb cat.
